"1th Miatamania meeting in Oltrepò - Italy"
The meeting started on Saturday 25th of June 2005 from Salice Terme- Italy, the heart of the beautiful countryside of the Oltrepo Pavese ( Lombardy - North Italy).
The Oltrepò hills are full of history, narrow roads, rarely ever straight, a few houses, a village every so often, an occasional car or tractor. On each side of the road there are hills, vineyards, wine cellars, small bars and restaurants. The area is covered with castles and strongholds like Oramala castle and the Medieval Abbey of S. Alberto di Butrio , near the town of Varzi .
The roads of this meeting are the same as the ones of the famous 4 Regioni , and Salice Terme rally (Italian Rally Championship).
We reached nice places like Monte Penice at 1500 m. a.s.l., the village of Bobbio, the most ancient village in the north of Italy and the river Trebbia.
A worthy side trip was the drive up, in two kilometers, to Brugnello, (464 m. a.s.l.) perhaps the most suggestive hamlets in all of the valley, due to its stone-built dwellings and charming white church nesting precariously on a rocky abutment.
The trip was about 130km - saturday...take a look at the itinerary map and about 50 km - on sunday .. the map.
On Sunday 26th we spent a diffrerent afternoon in a "cowboy ranch park texas-style" near the town of Voghera.

Our meetings are not intended to be and will not be races, but excursions to characteristic locations, organized so as to avoid city traffic and dangerous intersections, and providing the opportunity for participants to show off their splendid Mazda Mx-5.
Participants are responsible for their own insurance against theft, fire, accidents and various damage.
Event organizers decline all liability with regard to any such situations.
